Facilities
Chapel Rock, the Arizona Church Conference Center, situated on 20 acres of wooded land in Prescott, is open year round. Conferences have the immediate advantage of proximity to town conveniences and the seclusion of an ideal natural environment. Tall Ponderosa pine trees, oaks, elms, and beautiful outcroppings of rocks characterize the rolling landscape of the Center.
Building facilities include sleeping quarters for as many as 250 people. There are 83 hotel-style linen service beds and 167 camper beds. A professional cooking staff operates the main kitchen and dining hall.
ENTRANCE RECEPTION has a covered Ramada with benches and is equipped with building space to facilitate registration.
J.P. NEWELL ACTIVITY CENTER is a conference facility designed to accommodate groups of over 200 people. The conference building consists of two levels for a total of 5,558 square feet, covered porch, kitchen, restrooms, workroom, and fireplace.
BISHOP MITCHELL DINING HALL has been newly enlarged and remodeled, the Dining Hall seats about 180 guests. The large kitchen is well equipped with a commercial stove, ovens, walk-in cooler, semi-automatic dishwasher, freezers, baking table, mixer, etc. Dishes and utensils are on hand. The Dining Hall may sometimes double as conference space and occasionally may be rented.
EXTERIOR FACILITIES include a large circular campfire pit with wood supply, nature walks, and an open-air natural Rock Chapel.
RECREATIONAL FACILITIES and equipment are available for basketball & horseshoes. Kayaks can be made available, with Chapel Rock staff.
TRAINING AND DEVELOPMENT OPPORTUNITIES include a high and low ropes challenge course and climbing tower with zip line. Please call for more information regarding facilitation and pricing.
Lodging
COX HALL has been completely renovated to include four bedroom areas that sleep a total of 42 participants in bunk style beds. The meeting space has a hardwood floor and fireplace. The two restroom facilities include two showers, two toilets and two sinks each. A service kitchen includes a refrigerator, microwave oven and counter space for snacks and coffee service. The meeting space is handicapped accessible. Youth and family lodging.
ST. BARNABAS LODGE constructed in 1997 is directly across from the Newell Center. Twelve hotel style rooms have a double and single bed in each room with full linen service. Four rooms are fully handicapped accessible, and the meeting space is fully accessible. All rooms have a private entrance, bath, and patio area with forest views. Program space, with a corner fireplace, for 30-40 people is located in the center of the facility. There is also a beautiful outdoor gathering area. Adult lodging.
ST. JAMES' LODGE constructed in 2002 is located beside St. Barnabas Lodge. Eighteen hotel style rooms each have a double and single bed with full linen service. Two rooms are fully handicapped accessible. All rooms have a private entrance, bath, and patio or deck with forest views. Program space for about 70 people is located in the center of the facility. The indoor program space and the outdoor patio area have large rock fireplaces. Adult lodging.
HARTE LODGE is located in the heart of camp and has 7 bedrooms that sleep 15 people with full linen service. The Lodge has been equipped with one handicapped accessible shower and bath. It also has two meeting areas with a fireplace. Primary usage is for adult conferences and staff headquarters. Adult lodging.
KINSOLVING HOUSE has four apartments that sleep a minimum of 8 and up to 11 using double beds. Two apartments share a bath. The other two apartments have sitting rooms, bedrooms, and private baths. Full linen service is provided in Kinsolving apartments. Adult lodging.
ST. MATTHEW’S YOUTH AND FAMILY LODGE sleeps 40 people (The four corner bedroom areas sleep 8 each in bunk style beds, the two middle rooms sleep 4 in bunk style beds). The two restroom facilities in the lodge have two toilets, two showers, and three sinks each. A small gathering area is located in the center of the lodge. St. Matthew’s Lodge is fully handicapped accessible. Youth and family lodging.
KLEINDIENST YOUTH AND FAMILY LODGE sleeps 44 people. Two bedroom areas are designed to sleep 10 each, and two bedroom areas are designed to sleep 12 each, all in bunk style beds. The two restroom facilities in the lodge have two toilets, two showers, and three sinks each. A small gathering area, with a fireplace, is located in the center of the lodge. Kleindienst Lodge is fully handicapped accessible. Youth and family lodging.
TAYLOR LODGE sleeps 16 people (8 at ground level, 8 at second-story level). It is equipped with a refrigerator and microwave oven for snack prep. The Lodge has two complete bathroom areas, central heating and a lounge with fireplace that can also serve as a small conference area. Youth and family lodging.
PRITZLAFF LODGE sleeps 16 people (8 at ground level, 8 at second-story level). It has two complete bathroom areas, central heating, and a small lounge with fireplace that can also serve as a breakout area. Youth and family lodging.
LUCKING LODGEST. LUKE’S LODGE
CREEKSIDE LODGE Each sleeps 10; cabins are located adjacent to central bath facility (see Heated Bathhouse, below). Youth and family lodging.
HEATED BATHHOUSE is centrally located to all cabins needing toilet/shower accommodations. The men’s bathhouse has 3 showers and toilets; the women’s has 4 showers and toilets.
Chapel Rock operates year-round.
