Helpful Hints For Your Stay At Chapel Rock
In case of an emergency, dial 911 and notify camp personnel immediately. Emergency procedures are posted next to telephones in the dining hall and Harte Lodge.
A pay phone is located on the south side of the Entrance Depot building.
Please inform office in advance of your expected check-out time to ensure that our cleaning staff have sufficient time to turn around facilities.
The group’s representative must supervise participants at all times. Adult supervision is required in all youth cabin facilities. Buildings not assigned to your group are not to be used without permission. Adult supervision of children is required at all times in Newell Center.
Groups and /or participants shall be held financially responsible for damages or loss of Camp property as a result of improper use of the property and facilities. Damage, loss or cleaning charges will be based upon repair, replacement and labor costs.
Persons may not ride in the back of pick-up trucks on camp property. Drive slowly.
Parking is restricted to designated areas. Due to erosion and fire lane needs, vehicle parking along roadway areas is not permitted.
Please lift and move chairs and tables instead of sliding them, which scratches the floor. Avoid sitting on tables.
Basketballs are in a plastic garbage can by the court. After use, please put them away.
Please leave your mark by enhancing and taking care of the property. Do not write on bunks or walls. This is our home and we appreciate your visit.
To comply with the City of Prescott Noise Abatement Ordinance, please adhere to the 10 PM noise curfew. Supervised activities may continue indoors, walk quietly back to cabins.
Alcoholic beverages and drugs are not permitted on camp property. Smoking is not permitted inside buildings. Please smoke outside in designated areas and crush all cigarettes and dispose of them in proper receptacles.
Firearms, ammunition and fireworks are prohibited.
Snacks can be shared in the common areas of lodges. Please do not eat or drink in bedrooms or bunk areas. Please do not walk across carpeted areas with food or drink. Mice, squirrels, skunks and raccoons love your bed and food, so please leave your doors shut. Food is the bait, so please keep food in the common gathering areas and not in bedrooms. Make sure to wrap food up at night. Raccoons have been known to open windows and help themselves. Please leave all pets at home.
Please leave doors shut to help us save heat and to prevent the flow of animals in and out of the buildings. Windows are great for cross ventilation during non-winter heating months.
Your help in keeping the grounds free of litter is appreciated. Gum is not permitted on grounds.
Use trails and paths wherever possible.
The Hassayampa Golf Course next door is very inviting and very off limits. Strolling along the cart paths is not allowed.
There is a wonderful trail to the locally-named “Tubs” area, the Aspen Creek trail. The trail to the Tubs can be accessed by walking up behind St. James Lodge going out the fence area to the left and following the city park’s trail signs to Aspen Creek. The trail along the creek bed will take you to the Tubs.
Please use scoop to get ice out of machine and put it back on top of machine when done. Children need to ask for assistance.
Meals will be served cafeteria style for the entrée and side dishes. Salads and desserts will be on the buffet table. Save your plate for seconds and please ask if you need anything.
Meals are served at 8:00 a.m., noon and 5:30 p.m. Please be punctual. After meals, please put silverware in bins in the dish window, throw food and paper products in the trash can, place glasses and plates in the dish window.
For linen service facilities: on your day of departure, please pull sheets from your bed and place them in bags marked twin/single or double. Place your bedspread back on your bed with the rounded corners at the bottom. Fold your blanket and leave on the end of the bed. Place towels and bath mats in bag marked towels. Participants will be held financially responsible for missing linens.
St. Barnabas and St. James lodges have individual heat controls. Turn down heat when not in room. When checking out, thermostats may be left at 58 degrees.
